how do I disable safety switches on a John Deere stx38

I didn’t put the cap back on after replacing the sprocket. Putting it back on solved the 6 inch back and forth problem!

Back in the 70's I had a friend that worked at a rental business. Customer rents a lawnmower from them, decides that as long as he has the mower he'll trim the bushes with it, reached down with both hands to lift the mower up to cut the bushes. Cuts off all 8 fingers. Sued the business because there wasn't a label on it warning you NOT to try picking it up to trim bushes with it. Sick thing is - he won.

Take the carb off. Put in vice. Hacksaw across. Make slots. Cheers 🍻

Adjusting the high speed screw until you achieve maximum RPM and leaving it there will result in a too lean carb setting. Since 2 cycle engines depend upon the oil in the fuel for lubrication running too lean causes excessive wear on rings and cylinders and will lead to premature engine failure. The proper procedure is to adjust the high speed screw to maximum RPM and then turn it counter clockwise bit to enrichen the fuel/oil mixture.

Thank you! Trying to troubleshoot is impossible with all these safety switches. Mine has the seat, the break, the backup and has to be in neutral. The wiring is so old any vibration sets off one of the 4 switches and kills the engine.

Always ream the inside pipe , any burr's will effect the seal ! I been a plumber for 40 year's , but i don't use shark bites.

These switches are mainly from lawsuits involving people accidently hurting or killing their kids. Same reason they put brake interlocks in manual transmission compact cars in the early 90's.

Do NOT use RTV with gaskets. RTV is a gasket. So you either use the supplied gasket, or you make one with RTV. NEVER USE BOTH Gasket are specifically engineered to prevent leakage between two metal parts. Trust the OEM gasket. They don't use RTV with the gasket from the factory.....why would you put it on now You also run the risk of RTV squishing out, hardening, and then breaking off into your cooling system. That's a great way to clog your tiny cooling passages and blow your motor If parts come with a gasket.....use it. It doesn't need any help

I don’t know why motor shaft is coming out all the way the panel and every time interrupter cup falls off.

I just took the wires in the switch in Arkham to the positive on a battery and smoke the switch and it's just fine without it now

I’m new to Volvos, drove it home after purchasing yesterday and was working then stopped and the light came on and won’t go off. I can’t go past 70mph and if I stomp on it in 4 the car revs but goes no where. Curious would this be caused by it not going into overdrive or is it a transmission issue

The seat safety switch is primarily for idiots who try to ride a 60° bank with a junky old tractor, and flip it over on top of themselves....if you aren't doing that, you. Dont need a damn safety switch. Im single and have to jump my mower off rite now....im disabling that little f#$&er tomorrow of it kills me!😅😅
